Jhalana
Jhalana Forest Area is a small island of forest which is surrounded from all sides by the heritage and cultural city of Jaipur. This small patch of forest shelters a very healthy and sustainable population of India’s most elusive big cat – The Indian Leopard (Pathera Pardus). Earlier ignored as just a forest patch, Jhalana now has secured its place among one of the top destinations to sight and photograph majestic leopards in its natural habitat. Now its a protected forest area well managed by the forest department where safaris are run on a daily basis in open gypsies to boost ecotourism, wildlife awareness and leopard conservation.
